Open Mind Africa’s Open Mind SEL Education (OMASEL Ed) program represents a revolutionary step in nurturing a generation of young leaders equipped with the mindset, character, and skills necessary to contribute to Africa’s development, peace, and prosperity. Tailored specifically for Senior High School (SHS) students, OMASEL Ed is a multi-faceted initiative that integrates Social Emotional Learning (SEL) with academic guidance, personal growth, and career development. The program not only aligns with Open Mind Africa’s overarching mission and vision but also serves as a transformative platform for shaping future leaders capable of driving change across the continent.
2017 Summer Camp
We designed the first Open Mind Africa International Summer Camp in Ghana with programs that gave our students fantastic opportunities to develop essential social-emotional skills, multiple intelligences, build friendships and made memories that will last a lifetime. We invited educators and facilitators from the United States, Australia, and Ghana.
2018 Summer camp
Since 2017, programs offered by Open Mind Africa have been summer camps and after-school clubs for high school students. The summer camps are available for a select number of students and the clubs have open membership.
Campus SEL Clubs
Student-led clubs that serve as hubs for continuous learning and application of SEL principles. These clubs encourage collaboration, leadership, and community building on school campuses.
New Students Orientation Program
A foundational introduction to SEL for incoming students, helping them navigate their academic journey with self-awareness, empathy, and a growth mindset.
Career and Business Development Coaching
Comprehensive guidance on career exploration, goal setting, and decision-making. This component equips students with the tools to align their academic pursuits with long-term career and entrepreneurial aspirations.
